League One: Mid-Week Round Up 16/10

Story by Ryan Howden

You would be forgiven for forgetting about League One in the midst of last nights international action but two important games took place.

Bury 1-1 Carlisle

A late goal from Joe Garner denied Bury their first league win of the season in an exciting game. Bury had earlier opened the scoring when new loan-signing Zac Thompson had put the ball in the back of the net from 20-yards out.

Dominic Poleon, also on loan at Bury from Leeds, hit the outside of the post as Bury looked to turn around their season and move from the bottom of the table. But Garners last-minute shot denied the Shaker’s a much needed win.

Leyton Orient 1-0 Hartlepool

Ryan Brunt headed in for Leyton Orient just after the break to leave Hartlepool without a victory in their last 10 games. Pools goalkeeper Scott Flinders put in a good performance to twice deny Moses Odubajo, Dean Cox and Jimmy Smith.
